I was born on August 12th 1970 in Geislingen, SW Germany and grew up in Goeppingen. In 1990 I finished my A-levels, and after 15 months of community service at the Red Cross I went backpacking in Asia for six months.
Since then I've done a lot of travelling, including 4 months in Pakistan and India, 3 months in Morocco, 4 months in East Africa and 4 months in Argentina and Ecuador with Danila.
In 1992 I started my Geology degree at the University of Tuebingen, Germany.
Between 1996 and 1998 I lived in Salta for 16 months, studying and working, and finished my studies in 2000.
Then from 2001 to 2003 I travelled with my wife Danila on our BMW R80G/S bikes through Turkey, the Middle East and East Africa to Cape Town, and have been living in Argentina since January 2004.
